Kids in Uganda
When I was 12 years old, a man came and talked to my school about the people that lived in Uganda. He showed us pictures of them and told us their living conditions. I could've cried.
They didn't have any shoes, no schooling, their shelter was only a roof of twigs and clay. It made me realize how easy we all have it. So, I talked to the man who gave the presentation and asked him how I could help.
He told me that doing something within my neighborhood to raise money was the best. Like having a bake sale, a walk-a-thon, a garage sale, etc. So I got a few of my friends together and we put together a box with pictures and paragraphs about them on the sides and put it in my fathers grocery store. I couldn't believe how much money we made! We made $113.76. It doesn't really sound like a lot but living in Arcade NY, it really is! I hopefully made a big difference in the lives of people living in Uganda.
