Fun Run surprise

I'm a Michigan girl, from heart to soul. When I heard about the Special Olympics iWin Fun Run in Mountain View, CA, I asked my parents and planned my whole trip in 2 hours.

Not wanting to go alone, I posted a thread on Team Jonas asking anyone to come along and I met my best friend Karissa from Arizona.

I had never done something like that before. I had never been to a walk/run or anything like that, so I was quite scared to ask people for money. My dad suggested I make a small flyer advertising the charity. So I did, and I went to all my neighbors and local businesses just getting $10 here and there, sometimes less or even more. I just wanted to raise the $100 to win a t-shirt. After adding everything together and putting it all on the count, we had raised over $1,700.

I can honestly say that I cried. I never thought that was possible. It just goes to show those $1 donations really do add up. I am very blessed to have giving neighbors and friends.
