Friend in Need

My 7 year old family-friend has recently been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. After a week on holiday with her and her family I learned so much about diabetes, and I now want to do as much as I can to make a difference.

One night all the other kids were drinking special iced soft drinks, kinda like mock-tails and my little friend was sitting in the corner by herself, upset because she couldn't have one. After some guidance from her mom about what was okay for her to have, we helped her make her very own special drink. It was the easiest thing to do and the smile on her face was amazing to see. Hopefully now I can turn these small things into bigger things and put smiles on the faces of other kids like her!
